Sodium sulfide is also called odorous alkali, odorous alkali, yellow alkali, red alkali and alkali metal sulfide. Sodium sulfide is an inorganic compound, and pure sodium sulfide is a colorless crystalline powder. It has strong hygroscopicity and is easily soluble in water. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. Touching the skin and hair can cause burns. Therefore, sodium sulfide is commonly referred to as alkali metal sulfide. Sodium sulfide deliquesces, carbonizes and deteriorates in the air, continuously releasing hydrogen sulfide gas. Industrial sodium sulfide is pink, brownish-red and o-stone color due to impurities. Specific gravity, melting point and boiling point also change due to the influence of impurities.

APPLICATION
1-Used in leather or tanning to remove hair from leather and skin.
