Insurance intermediary Towergate Insurance has acquired Belfast-based Dawson Whyte,which is a provider of both commercial and personal lines insurance services across Ireland,Northern Ireland and across the UK.
As per the accord,directors of Dawson Whyte including Gordon Whyte,Brian Dawson,Hugh McKinty and Michael McClurg,as well as other regional directors will remain with the business along with employees in five offices across Northern Ireland.
Under the terms of the agreement,McKinty will serve as managing director for Northern Ireland within the broking division and will report to Kenny Hogg,Scotland and Northern Ireland regional managing director.
